LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS (LOTTE HOTELS hereinafter) places prime importance on customer personal information, and complies with "the Personal Information Protection Act." LOTTE HOTELS informs guests of means and purpose for which personal information provided have been used, and what measures we have taken to protect personal information according to our privacy policy.

Article 3. Personal information usage period & cancellation

  • 1. LOTTE HOTELS will dispose of members' personal information without delay once the purpose for collecting or receiving such information is achieved.
    • A. Room stay information (internal policy): Retain it for two years to provide customers with re-visitation services.
    • B. Shipping information: When goods or services have been delivered or provided
    • C. If personal information is collected for a survey, event, etc.: When such surveys, events, etc. are finished
  • 2. LOTTE HOTELS retains such information for a certain period of time when it is necessary to do so for reasons of verifying the rights, obligations, etc. related to the following transactions in accordance with relevant laws and regulations including the Commercial Act:

Under no circumstances does LOTTE HOTELS use or provide personal information of members to third parties or any other company/agency beyond the scope notified in the 『purpose of collecting and using personal information』,except with members' consent or under relevant laws or regulations. When providing or sharing personal information of members through business partnerships or affiliations, LOTTE HOTELS notifies members in advance, in writing or by email, and individually, about those with whom such information is provided to or shared, their business purpose, the items that are to be provided or shared, and the purpose of such provision or sharing, and then seeks to obtain members' consent. Because the provision of personal information to LOTTE HOTELS is only for the services intended for LOTTE HOTELS, members' refusal to give consent may lead to the unavailability of such services that are normally provided or used.
  • 2. We can provide personal information pursuant to relevant laws and regulations without members' consent if doing so is:
    • A. required to settle charges (points), after services are offered, and to deliver goods
    • B. necessary for statistical data, academic research or market survey, in which case such information is provided in an unidentifiable processed format

Upon making an entrustment contract, LOTTE HOTELS sets forth clearly strict compliance with instructions related to privacy, prohibitions on personal information, responsibility for accidents, etc. and keeps the contents of such contracts in writing, for the safe protection of personal information. Where there is a change in third party service providers with which personal information is provided or shared with, LOTTE HOTELS discloses the name of the changed company on the screen of this Privacy Policy within the website.
  • 3. The Company will supervise third party service providers observing specified matters properly within the scope of activities to be entrusted to ensure that personal information subject to such entrustment is managed safely.
  • 4. Transfer of personal information overseas due to offshoring

    To provide better customer service, LOTTE HOTEL will transfer personal information to be stored on contractor’s overseas sever, as shown below.

Article 7. Cookie operation & use

  • 1. LOTTE HOTELS runs "cookies" which stores and searches for members' information from time to time. Cookies are very small text files that are transmitted to members' browsers by the server used to operate the LOTTE HOTELS website and that are stored in their computer's hard disk.

Article 10. Technical/Institutional Management for Personal Information Protection

  • 1. LOTTE HOTELS implements the following technical countermeasures to keep members' personal information secure in handling their information, lest such information should be lost, stolen, leaked, altered, or compromised.
    • A. A user's personal information is protected with passwords, and important data is protected through a separate security measure in a manner that encodes files and transmitted data or uses a file locking function.
    • B. LOTTE HOTELS adopts the Secure Socket Layer that makes it possible to send personal information on our network safely by using an encryption algorithm.
    • C. To prevent a user's personal information from being leaked by hacking, etc., LOTTE HOTELS uses a double fire wall to block unauthorized external access, and monitors possible breaches around the clock by installing a 24 hour breach detection system in each server.
  • 2. LOTTE HOTELS minimizes the number of staff handling personal information, emphasizes the importance of compliance with this Policy through frequent education and training given to employees in charge, and takes immediate action against any related problem.
    • A. LOTTE HOTELS takes no responsibility for matters arising from members' mistakes or the basic risk intrinsic to the Internet. Each member must manage his/her personal information appropriately and be responsible for such management.
    • B. If personal information is lost, leaked, altered or compromised due to another internal administrator's mistake or an technical accident or incident, LOTTE HOTELS will immediately notify users of the fact, take proper measures against such accidents or incidents, and work out appropriate compensation.

Article 11. Commercial Information Transmission

  • 1. LOTTE HOTELS does not transmit commercial information for profit-making purposes against the clear intentions of customers who have opted out.

Clause 3 Personal information usage period & cancellation

  • 1. LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN will dispose of members’ personal information without delay when the purpose for collecting personal information or purpose for receiving the information is achieved. Detailed timing for the destruction is as follows.
    • A. Room stay information (internal rules): Kept for two years to provide service in case of repeat visitation
    • B. Delivery information: When goods or services are delivered or provided
    • C. When collected for the survey, event and others: When the applicable survey, event and others are concluded
  • 2. However, the hotel keeps records for a specific period of time when there is a need to do so due to the verification of the management obligatory relations pertaining to the transactions as follows in accordance to the regulations of the related laws such as the commercial law.

  • 3. Execution of the personal information effectuation period system
    • - LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN keeps personal information of the members who do not use our services for at least one year among the online members in accordance to the information communications network act (same law’s Clause 29 Sub Clause 2 and same law’s enforcement ordinance revised version’s Clause 16) by separating with other information. Except for when the member consents or when required by the related laws, LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN does not in any case use members’ personal information or provide information to others or other companies/institutions, exceeding the scope officially announced by the 『purpose for the collection of personal information and purpose of use』.
    • When members’ personal information is provided or shared though alliance, the hotel officially announces the party who receives the information or who the hotel shares the information with to the members in advance, what the main business is, category of the personal information that is provided or shared, and purpose for providing or sharing personal information individually via e-mail or in writing, and obtains members’ consent.
    • LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN’s supply of the personal information is only for providing LOTTE HOTEL’s services. Thus, normal service provision and use may be impossible unless members consent to the provision.
  • 2. In case of the following cases, it is possible to provide personal information without the consent of the members in accordance to the related laws.
    • A. If and when necessary for the payment of the fees (points) and product delivery following service provision

Clause 10 Technical/Systemic Management for Personal Information Protection

  • 1. LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN pursues after the following type of technical measures to secure safety so that the personal information does not get lost, stolen, leaked, transmuted or damaged when handling members’ personal information.
    • A. Users’ personal information is protected by PW, and important data is protected with separate security function by encrypting file and transmission data or by using file lock.
    • B. LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN adopted the Secure Socket Layer, security device that enables safe transmission of personal information via network by using cypher algorithm.
    • C. To prevent personal information leakage due to hacking, the hotel uses two tier firewall to block unauthorized outside access, and infiltration detection system is installed in each server for 24 hour monitoring against infiltration.
  • 2. LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN limits the number of employees handling personal information to the minimum, emphasizes the importance of complying with these rules by training the employees in charge at all times, and takes immediate measures when related problem is detected.
    • A. LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN does not assume responsibility for the events that occur due to the members’ mistake or due to the basic Internet risk. Individual members manage own personal information adequately and assume responsibility.
    • B. In case of other incidents such as personal information loss, leakage, transmutation and damage resulting from internal administrators’ mistake or accident caused by technical management, LOTTE HOTEL will notify the users immediately, and pursue after adequate measures and compensation.

Clause 11 Sending Advertising Information

  • 1. LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN does not send advertising type of information for profit sake against customers’ explicit refusal to accept e-mail.
  • 2. LOTTE HOTEL BUSAN takes measures on the spaces for the e-mail title and body so that the customers can easily recognize advertising type of information such as introduction to product and others for online marketing, via e-mail.
